A technician of Argentina's National Service of Animal Quality and Health (SENASA) disinfects a car coming from Paraguay before it enters Argentina, in the border city of Puerto Falcon, 45km west of Asuncion, on September 20, 2011, after the detection of foot-and-mouth in the neighbouring country. Paraguay ordered an immediate halt to beef exports on the eve, after detecting foot-and-mouth disease in cattle from a farm northeast of Asuncion, in a move that could devastate the country's cattle industry. The discovery occurred during a test of 13 cows at a farm in San Pedro department some 400 km from the capital, according to national animal health inspectorate Senacsa.
