US: Torrential Rain Causes Major Flash Flooding in DC Area
The D.C. area is trying to dry out after a torrential rainstorm Monday morning left roads flooded, drivers stranded and several Metro stations a mess. National Weather Service has lifted the Flash Flood Warnings for the D.C. metro area, but they've been replaced by regular Flood Warnings, which will last until 6 p.m. Downed power lines are a problem across the area. Many roads were closed in the area, including the Clara Barton Parkway, Canal Road in D.C. and more, and some still are. The D.C Fire Department rescued 15 people from their cars Monday; Arlington County reported 38, as well as 27 from houses and apartments.8 sec video (Looped x4) .
