Borah is probably best remembered for his unwavering opposition to the so-called Susan B. Anthony amendment granting women the right to vote. One of the most celebrated politicians from Wisconsin, Follette ran for president of the United States as the nominee of his own Progressive Party in the 1924 presidential election.
