Nancy Pelosi press exchange over Cassidy Graham health care block grant bill

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California answers questions from reporters at a weekly briefing while the House was in recess for Rosh Hashanah about the effects of a health care block grant bill, cosponsored by Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy in South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham about its effects on her state. Pelosi says it would be hard to understand how Republicans from California, New York or New Jersey would be able to vote for it, the American Health Care Act, having passed the house by two votes were a tie, which was a failure. Pelosi calls the bill poorly written because it is predicated on state action. Asked about use of a private jet by Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price, she says her focus had been on health care and making the future better, but that it is just not right and a House rule prevented it in response to lobbyists and Republicans flying around together.
