On Friday night, June 5, after the team defeated the San Antonio Spurs 105-104 in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.The victory gave the Knicks a 2-0 lead in the series, prompting large crowds to gather along Seventh Avenue, where supporters celebrated with chants, flags and fireworks. Police temporarily restricted access to parts of Seventh Avenue as they worked to manage the growing crowds and maintain public safety while celebrations continued into the night.The victory gives New York home-court advantage in the series and moves the Knicks two wins away from their first NBA championship since 1973.
