Farmers in Brussels protest with tractors against govt's agricultural policies

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM - MARCH 3: Belgian farmers gathered in Brussels with around 2,500 tractors to protest the government's agricultural policies on Friday (March 3).With the call of farmers' organizations in the Flemish Region, thousands of farmers demonstrated in Brussels against the agricultural policies of the government.They drove their tractors from the Flemish Region to Brussels on the main roads, interrupted the traffic in the city.The protesters gathered on Arts Loi Street in the city center, parked their tractors on the street and blocked the traffic and chanted slogans.They also hung banners on the tractors saying "No farmers, no food and no future", opposing the Flemish government's plan to limit nitrogen emissions in the agriculture sector by 2025.The EU Commission does not release the funds to be provided to the farmers in the region, as it does not find the nitrogen reduction measures of the Flemish Region sufficient.
