Traditions, culture and elders on the White Earth Indian Reservation. -- Ninety-eight-year-old Winnie Jordain grew up on the reservation, but moved to the Twin Cities after her first husband died in order to get employment to support her son. After many years as an activist in Minneapolis, Winnie has moved back to the White Earth reservation, has outlived her second husband, and now spends her time reading, watching televison, playing an occasional game of scrabble and relaxing in her living room, which has a view of the lake.(Photo By JUDY GRIESEDIECK/Star Tribune via Getty Images)
