South Africa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) spokesman Jackson Mthembu gives a press conference on May 30, 2012 in Johannesburg. The ANC will drop its legal bid to ban a painting depicting President Jacob Zuma's exposed genitals. Amid national furore and anger, the painting was vandalised last week, forcing the gallery to remove it from display and to temporarily close. Yesterday ANC supporters marched against what has become one of the most controversial artworks in the country's post-apartheid history.
