Botswana Diamond Industry

JWANENG, BOTSWANA - SEPTEMBER 24: Raw ore is sorted at a processing plant at Jwaneng, the richest diamond mine in the world on September 24, 2009 in Jwaneng, Botswana. It's owned by Debswana, a partnership between the De Beers Company and the government of Botswana. The mine employs about 3000 people and is also processing ore for the mine as well as two of Debswana's other mines. The truck can carry about 245 tons of ore each time. The mine operates 24 hours a day, all year around. Diamond wealth has brought lots of revenues to Botswana, including an impressive infrastructure such as roads and free education up to university.
