Minneapolis has "Spoonbridge and Cherry ," a playful symbol of nurture and flirtation arching across a pond in a meadow near downtown. As the centerpiece of the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, "Spoonbridge" has become a civic icon emblazoned on postcards, phone books and T-shirts. Tourists line up to have snapshots taken beneath "Spoonbridge" as they do for the Eiffel Tower or Ms. Liberty. Walker Art Center, which owns the spoon and the garden's 41 other sculptures , sells tiny "Spoonbridge" snow-domes.
