Ukrainian Medics Of The 41st Mechanized Brigade Work At The Nearest Stabilization Point To The Front Line In Toretsk Direction

DONETSK OBLAST, UKRAINE - JULY 7: A medical team provide medical aid to 55-year-old Ukrainian soldier Ivan with a bullet wound in his arm at the nearest stabilization point to the front line in Toretsk direction on July 7, 2024 in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. Previously, the stabilization point was even closer to the territory of one of the mines in Toretsk. The front line was getting closer, the shelling was intensifying, the influx of wounded was increasing. At one time, the stabilization point could receive thirty soldiers, while the heavier ones were stabilized, the lighter ones waited. Subsequently, it became impossible for medics to work due to the threat of airstrikes. Now it is 40 minutes by car from the front line to the stabilization point. The wounded either give first aid to themselves, or it is done by a combat medic of the unit. Then the wounded are taken out in an armored car from the evacuation point near the contact line. In this direction, as in many others, evacuation is complicated by the intensity of shelling. It is often impossible to evacuate a person during the day due to the threat of kamikaze drones.
