North End Shooting

Boston, MA - July 13: A bullet hole is visible in the front window of Modern Pastry on Hanover Street. Nick Picariello was working at Modern Pastry on Hanover Street Wednesday night when someone told him there was a shooting outside. A bullet was fired through the shop's front window during an altercation. "People are going to be scared to come in to the North End." He said outside the busy shop. Picariello is a member of the ownership family and has worked there for 40 yeara. "You used to settle fights with fists. Today it's guns and knives." He said.
