Africa, Egypt, Upper Egypt, Nile River. A few men work on the small fields cultivated on the banks of the Nile. During its floods, the Nile deposits silty alluvium which enriches the earth and allows cultivation. Some installed an irrigation system to pump water from the river inland. Some oxen accompany the men.
