Naples Trash Crisis Continues

Italy's third largest city is once again experiencing a serious waste crisis with waste remaining uncollected in the streets of its historical centre and districts. The Campania Region has now asked for help to other regions of Italy for the disposal of waste in this national emergency. The causes lie with Government and political inefficiency, corruption and Camorra, a lack of modern incinerators, intransigence and acquiescence of the local population and low levels of recycling.
