NEW YORK, NY – MAY 24, 2019: Youth Climate Strike: NYC school students rallied at Manhattan’s Columbus Circle and marched to Times Square chanting about environmental issues demanding that politicians, corporations, individual citizens, etc., take more effective action to guard the planet from pollution and global warming. This event also brings light on the subject of the Green New Deal which is a set of proposed economic stimulus programs in the United States that aims to address climate change and economic inequality. The school strike for climate (also known as Fridays for Future (FFF), Youth for Climate and Youth Strike 4 Climate is an international movement of school students who are deciding not to attend classes and instead take part in demonstrations to demand action to prevent further global warming and climate change.
