Congressman Conaway press statement on welfare work requirement reform

House Agriculture Committee Chairman Kevin Michael Conaway of Texas says at a press briefing that work on reforming supplemental nutrition assistance program had begun the three years earlier, that the idea was to put the best policy forward, that scoring the bill it fit within parameters and would move the country forward, that could not come at a better time as the economy was growing, that were capable individuals lacking skills could be empowered by states to bridge the gap so he was excited about the conversation on a legitimate and honest basis to try and quiet down disinformation in the arena.
