CDOT uses Self Propelled Modular Transporters to move the 2,400 ton Pecos Street bridge about 800 feet in 50 hours.

DENVER, CO - JULY 20: Closing I-70 in both directions over the weekend, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will roll the new 2,400-ton Pecos Street bridge (that will go over I-70) approximately 800 feet down I-70 using a Self Propelled Modular Transporter - the first time this method has ever been used by CDOT. The bridge will make a 180 degree turn before being set in to its final resting place. The process will take about 50 hours, with I-70 re-opening on Monday morning.
