Sculptures are displayed in front of the Centre Pompidou on February 02, 1977 in Paris, two days after its inauguration by President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing. The Georges-Pompidou National Center for Art and Culture (Centre national d'Art et de Culture Georges-Pompidou), commonly known as the Centre Pompidou or Beaubourg, is a multidisciplinary cultural institution dedicated to modern and contemporary creation which houses, within the National Museum of Modern Art, one of the two most important collections of modern and contemporary art in the world. It was designed by architects Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers and Gianfranco Franchini and inaugurated by French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing on January 31, 1977.
