(Original Caption) In a scene that's become quite familiar since the end of World War II, members of the French National Assembly listen to Socialist Party leader Guy Mollet make a policy statement as he seeks approval as Premier. Seated at the desk behind him is Andre Le Trocquer, new National Assembly President. A staunch anti-Communist, Mollet received solid Communist support as the Assembly approved his bid to become France's 22nd post-war Premier. In his address, Mollet urged stronger ties with the West and sweeping reforms in Algeria.
