They come from the colors of the Parisian militia cockade that stormed the Bastille. They are the colors most present in the Olympic Games. Many sports, especially those that confront two athletes, are identified as Blue and Red. White, although considered a royal color, is known as the 'ancient color of France' by Lafayette. White was added to the original cockade to give it national scope and unity. 'Blue, White and Red' is an emotional essay about sport.
