(Original Caption) As the Internationale was played in Madrid on Dec. 7, 1937, Clement R. Attlee, now British Prime Minister (arrow), raised his arm and gave the clenched fist salute of Communism. Nest to Attlee is Gen. Jose Miaja (1), commander of the Loyalist (Communist)forces. Others in the party are Miss Ellen Wilkinson, M.P. (2), who accompanied Attlee on the Madrid trip; Palmiro Togliatti (3), now leader of Communist legions in Italy, and Marshal Tito (4), present dictator of Yugoslavia, then known as Josip Broz. The scene was on the Presidential Government House balcony in Madrid. Attlee and his party were in Madrid at the invitation of the Spanish Government.
