Agitated petitioners weep during a gathering in Beijing, 03 December 2007 to protest against corruption and graft ahead of the nation's annual "legal day". The petitioners who came from all over China, carrying banners and placards, complained of police beatings, government land grabs, illegal confiscation of property and other injustices committed by local officials and loudly criticized central authorities for a failed petition system as China celebrates its annual "Propaganda Law Day," as part of the government's effort to realise its vow to "rule the nation by law." on 04 December.
