The bridge of Besalú is a Romanesque bridge of entrance to Besalú that crosses the Fluvià river. It is protected as a Cultural Asset of National Interest. The primitive bridge of Besalú seems that it was built in the 11th century by Count Guillem el Gras (1030-1050). The year 1315, a flood took it, and was raised again thanks to a tax established by King Jaume II. In the Middle Ages you had to pay a diner to pass it on horseback, and an obolor per person on foot and per beast charged.
