Whilst I am not a bird-watch expert, sometimes feathered visitors in our garden do catch my attention. This green woodpecker comes by on a regular basis, looking for a morning or afternoon snack. Since the main diet are ants, this process usually takes a while. With a length of more than 30cm it is almost impossible to miss it. Unfortunately, this bird is extremely shy and keeps monitoring the area constantly. For this reason, it never stands still, and flies away even with the smallest movement behind the window.
