DJ? Acucrack is an electronic music duo based in Chicago on the Cracknation record label. It consists of Jason Novak and Jamie Duffy, frontman and guitarist (respectively) of Acumen Nation.
After launching in 1997 with “Mutants of Sound” DJ? Acucrack became a favorite in the underground electronic circuit, securing great reviews and support from CMJ and touring with such luminaries as Curve, Cubanate and Lords of Acid.
Their 2000 follow-up “Sorted” featured the cult-fave So To Speak with Curve's Toni Halliday, which spawned an award-winning video, one of the first music videos ever to be filmed with HDTV cameras. Several video game soundtrack slots followed, and their ultimate balance of jungle, breakbeat, techno and ambient was realized with the 2002 release, “The Dope King.”
In 2004, DJ? Acucrack supported KMFDM on their 20th Anniversary Tour. In 2005 they released “Killing Mobius” and a live DVD. In the following years they toured with Front Line Assembly and released “Humanoids From the Deep”.
Over the course of their career, DJ? Acucrack has performed constantly, opening for the likes of Dieselboy, Goldie, Ed Rush and Optical, The Roots, Hive, Bad Company, Lo Fidelity All-Stars, Photek, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult and more. Their unique blend of dark drum n' bass, breakbeat, and techno delivered via a Live PA performance complete with vocals and visuals is a complex audio assault and an interactive treat for the audience.
