The London-based International Cocoa Organisation (ICCO) organised the event to discuss a sustainable future for the industry in the face of growing demand. The conference is of particular interest to Ivory Coast, which is the world biggest producer of cocoa. ICCO said Africa in particular was a key area for the cocoa industry, with countries there expected to produce 70 percent of the world cocoa output for 2011-2012 that the ICCO estimates at nearly four million tonnes.
