City Wildlife Rehabilitation Group Braces For Busy Spring Season
WASHINGTON, DC - FEBRUARY 27: Wildlife biologist Abby Hehmeyer refreshes the water for a recovering canada goose at City Wildlife, the first and only wildlife rehab organization within Washington, DC on February 27, 2014. The goose came to CW with severe head trauma after being hit by a car near Howard University. She's fully recovered and will be released soon. The group opened it's doors last July and recently gained attention when an injured snowy owl was brought for rehabilitation to their facility. They are looking for volunteers and donations as the busy Spring season approaches. City Wildlife is hoping someone will donate a small pool that they can use for waterfowl. They group rehabilitates most any animal brought to their facility excluding adult deer and rabies transmittable species. (Photo by Linda Davidson / The Washington Post via Getty Images)
