Los Gancheros Festival On The River Tajo

POVEDA DE LA SIERRA, SPAIN - AUGUST 30: A reveller dressed as 'Ganchero' uses his 'gancho' (hook) to hold back logs after leading them along the Tajo River during the 'Gancheros' festival on August 30, 2014 in Poveda de la Sierra, in Guadalajara province, Spain. 'Los Gancheros' is a traditional job where workers used to lead logs from villages high in the mountains along the Tajo River to Aranjuez city. The practice of this job lasted for around five centuries until industrial vehicles started to operate during the 20th century. During the festival villagers in the area recreate the job.
