The Living Legacy project dedicates 500 trees dedicated to Civil War soldiers who died

LEESBURG, VA - JUNE 29: A marker was placed on one of the trees dedicated to the life of a Civil War soldier at the Living Legacy Tree planting dedication June 29, 2014 in Leesburg, VA. The Living Legacy project hopes to plant 620,000 trees, one for each soldier killed in the Civil War, spanning 180 miles on the National Scenic Byway from Monticello to Gettysburg. On Sunday, 500 trees were dedicated to a individual soldiers as part of the world's largest living memorial.
