China Launches First Martin Jetpack In Shenzhen

SHENZHEN, CHINA - JULY 20: (CHINA OUT) Liu Ruopeng, Director of Shenzhen Kuang-Chi Research Institute, shows with Martin Jetpack during an innovator conference organized by Kuang-Chi Innovative Technology Ltd at Shenzhen Poly Theatre on July 20, 2015 in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province of China. First Martin Jetpack appeared in Shenzhen on Monday and China became the first country that launched Martin Jetpack. The Martin Jetpack designed and developed by Newzealand Martin Aircraft Company is a disruptive technology, much like the helicopter when first developed, with substantial capabilities and is able to be flown by a pilot or via remote control. The Jetpack can take off and land vertically (VTOL) and because of its small dimensions, it can operate in confined spaces such as close to or between buildings, near trees or in confined areas that other VTOL aircraft such as helicopters cannot access. It's said that the Martin Jetpack's booking price is 1.6 million (about 257,713 USD) and will be deliveried within one year in south China's Shenzhen City.
