TOPSHOT-AFGHANISTAN-UNREST-ARMY-SOLDIER

TOPSHOT - In this photograph taken on March 26, 2015, disabled Afghan army soldier, 27-year-old Amin, who lost both his legs in a remote-controlled bomb blast in Zabul during an anti-Taliban operation, puts on his prosthetic limbs at his temporary house on the outskirts of Jalalabad in Nangarhar Province. Amin, who served in the Afghan National Army (ANA) for more than 11 years in different parts of Afghanistan, got married some eights month ago and now feeds nine members of his family with the insufficient earnings from a small grocery shop. However, despite fighting poverty and disability, Amin is still proud of making sacrifices during his service to the country. Thousands of Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers have lost their lives or were wounded in the 12 year-long counter insurgency combat backed by the United States and its allies.
