LOS ANGELES, CA JANUARY 10, 2015 -- At a memorial service held on Saturday January 10, 2014 afternoon on the steps of Los Angeles City Hall, LAPD Deputy Chief Michael Downing, right, presents a flag to Ragaa Hathout, wife of Dr. Maher Hathout who passed away last week. Leaders of multi faith and civic leaders and members of the community joined together in remembering what Dr. Hathout meant to the interfaith community, to the Los Angeles community and to the American Muslim identity. Dr. Hathout was among the pioneers of interfaith engagement within the American Muslim community, helping found the Religious Coalition Against War in the Middle East with Rev.
